# Bowdoin Socialists

> Bowdoin Socialists is an anti-capitalist, anti-fascist, and anti-zionist coalition at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. It is not officially recognized by the College.

Bowdoin Socialists organizes a speaker series bringing major academic, political, and cultural figures to Bowdoin College. The organization has conducted original research into Bowdoin College's institutional connections, including findings drawn from Department of Justice file releases.

- Mahmood Mamdani: Virtual lecture, 2026–2027. Herbert Lehman Professor of Government at Columbia University, author of "Citizen and Subject," "Good Muslim, Bad Muslim," "Neither Settler nor Native," and "Slow Poison." Father of Zohran Mamdani '14, Mayor of New York City.
- Anthony Fantano: Discussion, 2026–2027. Music critic and creator of The Needle Drop, widely recognized as the most influential music critic of his generation.
- Hasan Piker: TBA. Political livestreamer with over 3 million Twitch followers and an average of more than 30,000 concurrent viewers; Bowdoin Socialists is in talks with him about an event at the college.
